Analysis of Results:
Although Harry Potter has many times larger presence on the web than LOTR and many more people seem to love Potter than LOTR, but LOTR has considerably less number of haters than Harry Potter. Also when the love/hate ratio is considered LOTR has many more times lovers than haters, than Harry Potter has lovers over haters. But, still Harry Potter has considerably more popularity on web than LOTR.
Verdict : Harry Potter wins the Google War against LOTR:

1) While the love phrase test shows how many pages (or people) love Harry Potter or LOTR
and the hate phrase test shows how many pages (or people) hate Harry Potter or LOTR,
the love/hate ratio derived from the above 2 results could indicate in how many times
more people love Harry Potter or LOTR than they hate it.
2) Since in most of the tests Harry Potter beat LOTR by very large margins, Harry Potter is the winner in this contest.

Lord of the Rings is still voted more famous here… they are both good but LotR is more epic.

Harry Potter was my first love and introduction to fantasy. However, Tolkein is the grandfather of fantasy (save Shakespeare, who is still my homez) and I have found very many common points in both of the storylines and charaters and such, conclusion: they are equal in my heart.
