Story :
Destry Rides Again is a 1939 western comedy drama starring James Stewart as Tom Destry Junior, who is called upon to restore law in the corrupt town of Bottleneck. Kent is a corrupt saloon owner, who murders the Sheriff Keogh, when the sheriff tried to investigate into his activities. The corrupt mayor then makes a town drunk, Washington Dimsdale, the new sheriff. But what the mayor does not know is that Washington had been a deputy under famous lawman, Tom Destry and is able to call his son, Tom Destry Junior, to restore the law.
The drunk suddenly sobers up choosing the “badge” over the “bottle”. Tom arrives, but he is a unique lawman who does not believe in guns or gratuitous violence, but in peaceful co-operation and dialogue to deals with outlaws. The rest of the film revolves around the Tom’s unique method of law enforcement.

The climax of this film is very funny and surprising. Also, there are many humorous moments in the film. This classic is worth to be seen.

This film was adapted from Max Brand’s novel, “The Untamed”. This novel was first adapted in a 1920’s film starring Tom Mix.
Catfight :There is a very famous funny catfight scene between Lillibelle, a domineering housewife and Frenchy, a saloon singer over the possession of Lillibelle’s henpecked husband, Callahan’s trousers.
